If you feel the tingle only when you’re exercising. It may have to do with your gear. For instance, you could be wearing the wrong leggings (e.g., nonbreathable, tight-fitting fabrics) and trapping sweat and moisture, which can cause prickly skin, says Dr. Gupta. Or your typical laundry detergent may otherwise seem fine but not mix well with sweat, making your body rebel. Go ahead: Treat yo’self to some quality sweat-wicking leggings, and swap your detergent for one without fragrance to rule out these potential factors. I now skip compression bottoms and wear shorts in high heat; both tactics definitely seem to help.
